So, we were very excited to find a small cafe in Berkeley (that wonderful melting pot!!) called Suya African Caribbean Grill serving West African and Caribbean inspired food (Jamaican food is one of my favorites). The food did not disappoint. De-licious. Since we were starving, we decided to stick with what we knew, so we had the jerk chicken skewers, plantains, grilled corn, sweet potato chips and roasted potatoes. All good. All of it. We have already scoped out what we will get on the next visit, Suya chicken and empanadas will definitely be on the list.

I will say, it is small (and was crowded, which was a good sign), so a lot of people ordered take-out, but seating is available. And the "music" isn't what we expected, since usually when businesses advertise music, it is live. This wasn't, just a system playing. But, we went for the food (which was also decently priced- a plus!!) and not the music, so we got over it quickly. Can't wait to return.
